In this unit we shall consider Decimal fractions.

Which of the following pair of variables are directly proportional and inversely proportional.
i)Things bought and money spent.
ii)Number of persons employed to unload a truck and time required to complete the work.
iii)Length of the rectangle and area of the rectangle.
iv)Number of homework and time required to finish it.

Answer

i)We can buy more things with more money. So, directly proportional.

ii)With more people, we can unload the truck quickly. So, inversely proportional.

iii)Area = Length X Width. With width being constant, length and area are directly proportional.

iv)More the homework, more time will be required.
