Unit-4 Decimal Fractions

In this unit we shall consider Decimal fractions.

A recipe for cooking of 1 cup of a sweet dish uses 1 cup of ghee and 3 cups of sugar and 2 cups of besan. Find the ratio of the ingredients. Suppose we want to make 4 cups of sweet dish, then how much of each ingredient would be needed.

Ratio of sweet dish to ghee, sugar and besan is 1 : 1, 1 : 3 and 1 : 2.

If we need 4 cups of sweet dish, multiply and divide all the ratio by 4.

The ratio becomes 4 : 4, 4 : 12, 4 : 8

Hence, we need 4 cups of ghee, 12 cups of sugar and 8 cups of besan.
