a) The minimum score is 6.
b) The total score is 9.
c) Each throw results in an even score.

Answer

Suppose i is the result on the first throw and j is the result on the second throw,

i = 1, 2, . . . , 6 and j = 1, 2, . . . , 6. Thus sample space is N = {(i, j) : i = 1, 2, . . . , 6 and j = 1, 2, . . . , 6} .

a) {(6, j) : j = 1, 2, . . . , 6} [ {(i, 6) : i = 1, 2, . . . , 6} .

b) {(i, j) : i = 1, 2, . . . , 6, j = 1, 2, . . . , 6 and i + j = 9}

c) {(i, j) : i = 2, 4, 6 and j = 2, 4, 6} .
