There were many causes, which led to the collapse of this mighty rebellion. Some of them are:

  • Lack of a Unified Programme and Ideology
  • Lack of Unity Among Indians
  • Lack of Support from the Educated Indians
  • Disunity Among the Leaders
  • Military Superiority of the British

These were the main factors responsible for the failure of the revolt.
