A piece of meat weighs 25.6 kilograms. before it is cooked and 23.2 kilograms after cooking. Determine the percentage weight lost in cooking.

Weight lost = 25.6 – 23.2 = 2.4

The weight loss is corresponding to 25.6 kilograms i.e. 2.4 per 25.6.

Percentage weight loss = 2.4/25.6 × 100 = 9.375%
