Let x be the number of days taken by 6 people. With more number of people working, the job will take less time to be completed. That means they are inversely proportional.
- People Days
- 20 12
- 6 x
That is 20 × 12 = 6x or x = (20 × 12)/6
x = 40
Hence, 6 people can finish the job in 40 days.
